Vande Bharat Express
The Vande Bharat Express, formerly known as Train 18, is a semi-high-speed, electric multiple-unit train operated by Indian Railways. It was designed and manufactured by the government-owned Integral Coach Factory (ICF), located in Chennai.
On 27 January 2019, Train 18 was renamed to Vande Bharat Express to honour the fact that the train was manufactured entirely in India for covering distances of 500kms to 750kms.It was designed with the vision of low-cost maintenance and cost optimization in mind. It began operations on 15 February 2019.The cost of a single rolling stock is about Rs 115 crore (14$ million USD ), however, the cost can potentially be reduced if mass production begins.

☃️These trains have a self-propelled engine which can save diesel & reduce electricity usage by up to 30%.
☃️The first Vande Bharat Express was manufactured by Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.
☃️It was manufactured under the ‘Make in India’ programme, at a cost of about Rs 100 crore.
☃️In the Union Budget for 2022-2023 the government has proposed the development & manufacture of 400 new Vande Bharat trains in the next three years.

🚂1st Vande Bharat Express runs between New Delhi to Varanasi.
🚂2nd Vande Bharat Express runs between New Delhi to Vaishnodevi (Jammu & Kashmir).
🚂3rd Vande Bharat Express runs between Mumbai to Ahmedabad.
🚂4th Vande Bharat Express runs Delhi to Amb- Andaura (Himachal Pradesh).
🚂5th Vande Bharat Express runs between Chennai to Mysuru.
🚂6th Vande Bharat Express runs Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) to Nagpur (Maharashtra).
🚂7th Vande Bharat Express runs between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri (West Bengal)
🚂8th Vande Bharat Express will be run between Secunderabad to Vijayawada.
