Sarla Aviation has introduced its electric air taxi prototype, "Shunya", at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The air taxi is designed for urban air mobility and aims to address traffic congestion and pollution.
The Shunya air taxi can travel at speeds of up to 250 kmph and accommodate six passengers. It has a maximum payload of 680 kg, making it the highest payload eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) vehicle available.
Sarla Aviation plans to launch its services in Bengaluru by 2028 and expand to other cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune.
The company will offer competitive pricing and a free air ambulance service. Sarla Aviation was founded in October 2023 and has raised $10 million in Series A funding.
The company aims to become a cornerstone of India's urban air transport with its futuristic mobility solution.
